Setting up production

We took a still image of every clip before shotting so that we had a clear idea of how the setting looks and if there were any adjustments needed. At the end of the production we decided to use the still images in our storybord.

We placed everything in this "messy"order to create the setting that was needed to potray the negative, rebellious and untidy connatations of the characters.

Amy trying to attach the battery and bottom cap of the "steady-cam" to the camera.

Nuchi learning how to use the "steady-cam", this camera is used to smooth the flew of movement whilst it's handheld.

This is me setting up the camera just before the production.

Research in Post Punk & Punk Rock Genres

Post-punk music is a genre that had been developed in the late 1970’s, this was a rock music movement. The genre was the roots of ‘punk-rock’ which was developed in the mid 70’s. Artists such as ‘The Clash’, ‘Sex Pistols’ and ‘Ramones’ were some of the first post- punk bands in the 70’s, their style of music challenged the current style and conventions of rock music by adding speed and cutting musical structure down to a few basic chords.

Just like this genre of music challenged the current styles of music in the 70's and 80's, we have decided to challenge stereotypes of gender roles. Looking at the images from these post punk bands I have realised all their personas are similar, so by copying their costume design we managed to reconstruct ourselves so we can represent “joy division”.
